The AEV Risk Management Team held its annual KiDisaster Preps last October 15 in Tarlac City. On its third year of implementation, the Risk Team partnered with Pilmico to select one of its host communities, the farming village of Brgy. Balanti.
Started in 2014, the annual CSR activity aims to educate and promote the value of disaster awareness, preparedness, and response to children.
Team members from different Aboitiz Corporate Service Units and Business Units took part in the preparations leading up to the event by sponsoring Go Bags for kids, helped in packing them, and joined on the actual day’s program of activities.
A total of 228 students of Balanti Elementary School learned the value of disaster awareness, preparedness, and response through active storytelling, role play, and games. At the end of the program, each child participant received Go Bags, each containing a raincoat, rain boots, whistle, flashlight, hygiene kit, medical kit, and Pilmico’s The Care Package high-energy biscuits.
With the newfound knowledge on preparedness and response along with the Go Bags, the children of Balanti Elementary School are now marked KiDisaster Ready.
