On its 11th year as a partner in DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela, the Aboitiz Group introduced new activities for A-People who gathered in Manila, Cebu, and Davao to help our public schools prepare to open a new school year.
Aboitiz team members and scholars trooped to C.P. Sta. Teresa Elementary School in Taguig City, Pateros Elementary School in Pateros, and Talamban Elementary School in Cebu City last May 19 to help out in various tasks that promote the theme of “Pagkakaisa Para sa Handa, Ligtas at Matatag na Paaralan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan”.
This year’s Brigada was made more interesting as volunteers took advantage of the opportunity to build mini-nurseries, rehabilitate vegetable garden plots, and cover school textbooks. These activities were welcome additions to the regular task of armchair, desk, classroom, and mural painting at Aboitiz Foundation’s assisted schools.
Our collective efforts count by helping our government achieve its national targets in an area close to our hearts — education. Likewise, it serves as a challenge for us to continue finding innovative solutions to help improve public education in our country in order to raise our future nation builders and fulfill our brand promise of advancing business and communities.
