Aboitiz Construction completes IMS re-certification process

Two Aboitiz Construction companies have been re-certified on international standard management systems.

Aboitiz Construction, Inc. (ACI) was re-certified for ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System/QMS), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System/EMS) and BS OHSAS 18001:2007 while Aboitiz Construction International, Inc. (ACII) was re-certified for EMS and OHSAS and passed the first follow-up audit of QMS.  Also included in the audit was the Lima Land Outlets Project in Batangas.

The scope of the certifications covers metal fabrication and assembly, including pressure vessels, structural and piping. With these re-certifications, Aboitiz Construction maintains an integrated management system (IMS) which gives equal importance to profit, people (health) and planet (environment). Truly, Aboitiz Construction ensures delivery of RISQ (reliability, integrity, safety & quality), the company’s value proposition, to its clients.

The IMS certification project was led by August Dacanay as management representative, David Dumaguit as lead auditor, together with the internal auditors, namely: Maribel Bangot, Flora Estapia, Juanita Labang, Rey Menchavez, Mercy Ricamata, Deonito Capao, Raul Valmoria, Hannah Carmelotes, Leah Bardoquillo, Gleazyl Capuno, KC Cong, Janet Abella, Kenneth Bardenas.

TUV-Rheinland lead auditors Minda Villapando (for ACI) and Grace Del Rosario (for ACII) announced the favorable result during the closing meeting of the 4-day audit.  

ACII, a PEZA enterprise with a 10.5 hectare facility in Arpili, Balamban on the west side of Cebu, is managed by ACI.  ACI was established in 1978 with head office in Cebu.  Collectively referred to as Aboitiz Construction (formerly Metaphil), both companies continually strive to build a solid reputation anchored on excellence and achievement.

The certifications are proof of the commitment to live and breathe Quality and Safety and protect kauban Health and Environment.  ACI first got its ISO quality management system certification in 2002 while ACII first got certified in 2010.  ACII was certified for IMS in 2011.
