Along the shores of Seafront Residences in Batangas, Olive Ridley sea turtles or pawikan have come back year after year to lay their eggs. To preserve this natural breeding sanctuary, collaborative programs have been put in place to help nurture and protect this endangered species.
This year, AboitizLand coordinated closely with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Environmental Science department at the University of the Philippines Diliman to further ensure the safety of the turtles and their breeding grounds. The local community has also been actively involved in the initiative through an engaging program roll-out and education drive.
AboitizLand CSR, AEV Sustainability, and Aboitiz Foundation partners with UP Diliman Institute of Environmental Science to promote care for the pawikan and their ecosystem.
As part of the company’s commitment to advance business and communities by creating better lives, sustainability efforts also include regular reviews of the development’s masterplan to protect and nurture the area’s thriving ecosystem.
