“There is always one more thing to learn,” said Steve Jobs. It was the mindset of the veteran and novice Corporate Buyers from different Business Units (BUs) of AboitizPower as they completed the two-day workshop on May 25 to 26 at AP Renewables Inc. (APRI) MakBan.
The Master Negotiations Program, facilitated by Guthrie-Jensen Consultants and initiated by APRI Supply Management and Warehousing (SMW) Department, aims to hone one of the most important tools of the trade: effective negotiation.
The workshop is a pioneering activity of APRI-SMW, which gathered buyers of diverse experience and expertise in a learning and sharing environment.
It’s also designed to raise awareness and understanding of the overall negotiation process; on when to identify opportunities for negotiation and recognition of tactics and strategies to take with the aim of a win-win outcome.
During the workshop, the participants also shared best practices in their respective BUs and established more collaboration among different AboitizPower procurement teams.
A total of 20 AP buyers from APRI, Therma Marine, Inc. (TMI), Cebu Private Power Corporation (CPPC), East Asia Utilities Corporation (EAUC), Therma Mobile, Inc. (TMO), Therma Visayas, Inc. (TVI), and SN Aboitiz Power (SNAP) attended the training.
The team members are now equipped with the right tools and resources in securing cost-efficient deals, bringing significant contributions to the organization, and ultimately advancing business and communities to create long-term value for all our stakeholders.
