It’s hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember. For people who have seen how Doc Dennis Racelis, Vice President for Farms of Pilmico, had been around with family and friends, there are many good things to recall.
With his calm yet motivating demeanor, Doc Dennis had served as a shining example of what it truly means to be an Aboitiz leader: a mentor, who guided his colleagues to new heights; a pillar, whose legacy for learning now shape Pilmico team members’ growth; and an inspiration, to which others look up and offer the kindest of words.
For the lives he touched, Doc Dennis will always be remembered as a paragon of passion, a beacon of excellence.
Sabin Aboitiz, President and CEO, Pilmico
My memories of Dennis dates back to 2009 when he helped me learn about the farm business. It was a very good briefing hen, followed by many conversations on operations, leadership and even relationships. Every conversation left me a very good impression of him.
He knows his craft well and exhibited so much passion about his work. This is seen in his efforts and countless contributions to our Farms Business and to the Swine Industry as a whole. He is well respected by friends and colleagues.
Dennis’ love for life is greatly exhibited in his mastery of things he sets his hands on – be it food, nature, photography or sports. Dennis speaks his mind with utmost authenticity and I greatly appreciate it. Conversations with him always stir my imagination of how everything could still be improved and made better than they are today.
What is outstanding about Dennis is his sheer determination and passion to excel in whatever he ventures into.
The truth is, whatever he does – he does it simply, excellently and innovatively.
Dennis, we will greatly miss you. But I ask every Pilmico Partner to remember you in your great ways and in your best days.
William Paradies, COO Farms, Pilmico
I had the pleasure of knowing Dennis for only a short time but it did not take me too long to figure out what a great person he was. After the first couple of encounters you have with him it becomes obvious what a good natured, kind, and humble person he was. Ask anyone who knows him what they think of him and before saying anything they will likely flash a quick smile.
As a partner at work I couldn’t have asked for better. I’m grateful for what I’ve learned from him and we are all grateful for everything he did for Pilmico. He was there from the very first days of the farm and I know how proud he was of how much it has grown over the years.
Just as growing the farm and building one of the best performing swine operations in the business were marks of his contributions, so too are the many people he mentored and helped develop along the way.
Thank you Dennis for all you have done, you will be greatly missed.
Liz Clarete, AVP-HR, Pilmico
