Aboitiz Cleanergy Park welcomes summer with more pawikan hatchlings

Community stakeholders and Aboitiz team members have been welcoming new batches of pawikan hatchlings and releasing them to the open waters of the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park in Sitio Punta Dumalag, Matina Aplaya, Davao City, this as the summer days shine their brightest.

A total of 272 pawikan hatchlings coming from the third and fourth nests burst free from their shells racing with each other towards the sea. Since inception, the Park has released 2,503 pawikan hatchlings back to the sea.

Present to witness the releasing of the hatchlings from the third nest were the employees from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources XI, Rotary Club of East Davao President-elect Alvin Orteza, Apo Agua Infrastructura General Manager Ones Almario, Matina Aplaya barangay officials and some of its residents. Meanwhile, the release of the hatchlings from the fourth nest was attended by one of the Directors of Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), Olie Dagala; Ateneo de Davao University faculty headed by its Principal, Fr. Mike Pineda; Davao Light Executive Vice President and COO Rodger Velasco and family; NGOs (IDIS & EcoTeneo); the media; and Davao Light Kaibigans, among other attendees.
