CitySavings merges with PR Savings Bank

CitySavings, the thrift banking arm of UnionBank, has merged with Philippine Resources Savings Banking Corporation (PR Savings Bank), in support of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) efforts to improve financial inclusion in the country and strengthen the banking industry through mergers and consolidation.

A Synergistic Approach to Leadership Development

Since 2014, over a thousand educators from the Department of Education (DepEd) hailing from various regions experienced Project Synergy, a values integration and leadership training program by City Savings Bank (CitySavings) in partnership with the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. – Kool Adventure Camp (RAFI KAC).

CitySavings reaches out to more ALS teachers

Since its establishment, the Alternative Learning System (ALS) program of the Department of Education (DepEd) has opened numerous opportunities for Filipino students, out-of-school youth (OSY) and other members of the community who have limited or no access to attend and finish formal basic education.

A total of 184 selected educators from different Divisions of Central Visayas and Bicol Region participated during City Savings Bank’s Project Pink forum – a signature Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of the bank which aims to promote breast cancer awareness and prevention among public school teachers.

Empowering DepEd’s mobile teachers

In 2016, for its 50th anniversary, CitySavings reached out to a total of 933 ALS mobile teachers in 33 DepEd school divisions through a donation of laptops and LCD projectors, enhancing their work to bring literacy to areas unreached by formal education.

Practical wealth management for public school teachers

City Savings Bank’s Project ₱er@parasyon is aimed at enhancing public school teachers’ knowledge on practical wealth management. CIT-U wins in CitySavings 1st Hackathon

Students of Cebu Institute of Technology University (CIT-U) bested 4 other schools during CitySavings’ own Hackathon last September. The winning mobile app, “CitySavings Loan”, aims to make loan application and approval more convenient for the teacher-clients with the use of a smartphone.
