Davao Light turned over its sixth electricity laboratory or e.Lab to F. Bustamante National High School (FBNHS) in Tibungco, Davao City last July 8.
The e.Lab is one of the corporate social responsibility programs of Davao Light, which is in partnership with the Aboitiz Foundation, to support the DepEd technical vocational courses under the K-12 program.
The turnover was participated in by some Davao Light employees led by the AVP for Reputation Enhancement Ross Luga and Community Relations Manager Fermin Edillon. Also present are the Brgy. Tibungco Captain Merjade D. Calvo, TESDA Provincial Director Engr. Nestor Tabada and 2nd District Congresswoman Mylene Garcia-Albano.
“We feel very privileged and thankful to be given the opportunity to serve these communities not only by providing electric service but also in some way enriching the lives of those less fortunate.” said Luga in his opening message as words of gratitude of the continuous support the electric utility gets from the local government unit, DepEd and TESDA of its CSR projects.
The students of the FBNHS as well expressed their gratitude through a grand presentation showing how the project would help them attain the professions that they want to become in the future.
FBNHS Principal Zenaida Milando in her closing message said that she was very happy that the e.Lab was realized. “I’m sure that this project will open many opportunities to students once they pursue a career in electricity,” Milando added.
Davao Light will be turning over five more e.Labs to complete the 11 e.Labs that the company has committed to DepEd.
