The Department of Education (DepEd) has recognized the Aboitiz Group’s outstanding contribution in pursuing the development of basic quality education in the Philippines.
During its Partners’ Appreciation ceremony held in Pasig City, Aboitiz business units and foundations received DepEd Certificates of Appreciation for the long-standing commitment to promoting education and collaboration under the Adopt-A-School Program (ASP). Among these are AboitizLand, Aboitiz Foundation, CitySavings Bank, Cotabato Light, Davao Light, Hedcor Inc., Hedcor Sibulan, Hedcor Davao, Pilmico, Pilmico Animal Nutrition, Therma Marine MACO, Therma Marine Nasipit, Therma Mobile, Luzon Hydro, AP Renewables, Inc. (APRI-Makban), AP Renewables, Inc. (APRI-Tiwi), Therma Luzon, VECO, and WeatherPhilippines Foundation.

The Aboitiz Group’s support to DepEd through ASP is part of its strategies in advancing business and communities by co-creating safe, empowered, and sustainable communities. Through its Education program, the Aboitiz Foundation, in partnership with the Aboitiz business units, develop technical vocational high schools and science elementary schools, rewire classrooms, and provide college scholarships.
Through DepEd’s ASP, the Aboitiz Group, along with other companies, are able to contribute in addressing immediate educational needs, raising critical resources, and promoting worthwhile investments in nation-building. DepEd’s partnerships with the private sector work toward educating Filipinos and providing access to holistic and inclusive quality education nationwide.
