On March 22, Davao Light and Aboitiz Foundation turned over five more e.Labs to the Department of Education-Davao City in support of the latter’s Technical Vocational (TechVoc) courses for the K-12 curriculum.
The e.Labs are training facilities for senior high school students who will take the TechVoc strand of the new curriculum, particularly the Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) Course.
To date, 16 e.Labs have already been donated to various public high school beneficiaries, with two more slated for turnover in Davao Light’s Davao del Norte franchise area. For school year 2017-2018, nine more e.Labs will be donated.
Attendees for a formal turnover ceremony of an e.Lab at F. Bangoy National High School included 2nd District Congressman and Deputy Speaker for Southern Mindanao Mylene Garcia, Committee on Education Head Pilar Braga, and TESDA XI Regional Director Gaspar Gayona, among others.
Through Project e.Lab, Aboitiz supplements students’ training to help build capabilities and provide them with better job opportunities.
