Dear Fellow Team Members,
As we take deliberate steps towards strengthening our Group’s strategic pillar of Growing the Business, I am pleased to announce exciting developments for Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC) in the water sector.
Water is a strategic space in which AIC would like to grow its presence. Its first venture, Apo Agua, is a bulk water project that will provide Davao City with 300 million liters per day. To further establish its presence in the sector, AIC acquired 100% of Lima Water Corporation (Lima Water) from AboitizLand, and 11.14% minority stake in Balibago Waterworks Systems, Inc. (BWSI) from the San Fernando Electric Light & Power Co. Inc. (SFELAPCO).
These acquisitions will enable AIC to establish its position as a provider of water and wastewater-related services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. These steps are key for AIC to achieve its goal of building franchises across the entire water value chain.
With its entry into Lima Water, AIC will work together with AboitizLand to operate similar water and wastewater distribution facilities of current and future AboitizLand developments. This will support AboitizLand‘s commitment to build deliberately designed residential, commercial, and industrial communities that help people live better lives.
Through AIC’s investment in BWSI, it will partner with an established market player in the water sector operating over 50 water distribution franchise areas throughout the country. Indeed, we in the Aboitiz Group are excited to be part of what is touted to be “the golden age of infrastructure” for our country. We commit to provide innovative infrastructure-related solutions that will help drive economic progress and uplift the lives of Filipinos.
May we all support this infrastructure path towards fulfilling our Group’s brand positioning of advancing business and communities.
