UnionBank has introduced a new type of branch ambassador, 3-feet-tall robots named “Eve”, which will be deployed to four ARK branches — UnionBank Plaza in Pasig City, Insular Life Building in Makati City, 32nd Street in Bonifacio Global City, and Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City.
The ‘Eve’ robots will function initially as greeters but they are programmed to learn certain functions in bank branches. They will help hand-hold customers through digital banking, guide them through the self-service machines and the queueing system, as well as teach them how to register to UnionBank Online, the bank’s online banking website and mobile app. They can also direct people to the ARK ambassadors, answer questions about bank products, invite guests for coffee, and even sing and dance to provide entertainment.
UnionBank collaborated with a foreign robotics tech company to create Eve, which is seen to be instrumental in further enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency.
A frontrunner in digital banking, UnionBank is committed to utilize technology to augment banking experience and address common pain points in banking. Most recently, it was awarded the 2019 Frost & Sullivan Asia-Pacific excellence in customer experience for the Philippine banking industry.
Frost & Sullivan lauded UnionBank’s customer-driven strategy which continues to propel the company to even greater heights. “The bank is performing well beyond the trail of innovation, completely transforming its banking capabilities and enhancing customer experience,” it said.
