More than a thousand participants enjoyed gallops of fun at the Xavier Family Stallion Run held on Jan. 22 in commemoration of the school’s 60th anniversary.
UnionBank has been supporting this annual Family Run for the benefit of the Fr. Pierre Tritz Institute – ERDA Tech (FPTI-ERDA Tech), a technical and vocational secondary school in Pandacan, Manila. This special school was established in 1993 by Fr. Pierre Tritz, SJ, giving opportunities to children from very poor families to help them secure high school education and aid them in learning an employable technical skill.
The opening program included warm up exercises, welcome remarks by School President Fr. Aristotle Dy, SJ, and a message from Mr. Wilson Sy, president of the Xavier School Parents’ Auxiliary (XSPA).
Also joining the run and on hand to award the special prizes was Genaro Lapez, EVP and Head of the Center for Strategic Partnerships.
“It’s an honor to be part of the Stallion Run for the third consecutive year. In line with UnionBank’s 35th anniversary this year, we celebrate through the spirit of UBUNTU, which is further achieved in this project of helping the children of FPTI-ERDA Tech and making a difference in their lives.”
– Genaro Lapez, EVP and Head of the Center for Strategic Partnerships, UnionBank
The Xavier Stallion Run was organized by the XSPA and the Alumni Association of Xavier School, led by the XS Batch 1986 Men for Others Foundation.
