AboitizLand Branding and Aboitiz Eyes team | July 19, 2019
Every school functions beyond teaching its young students. From time to time, it can turn into a meeting venue, a temporary shelter for displaced families, and, just recently, a place to choose our nation’s leaders. Given the multiple ways it serves the community, a school must be regularly checked against the usual wear and tear and that’s why Aboitiz team members and partner volunteers got together to do their share for Bugtongnapulo National High School in Lipa City, Batangas.
The team was greeted with much enthusiasm from teachers and students who warmly welcomed all who reach out to help in repainting and repairing the facilities of the campus under DepEd’s annual Brigada Eskwela program. For half a day, team members from LiMA Land, AboitizLand, Aboitiz Infra, LiMA water, and Bandai (a LiMA Land locator) worked with one objective in mind: to make the CSR event successful by ensuring classrooms are well-maintained, comfortable, and more conducive to learning for the coming school year.
LiMA Land and Aboitiz Foundation also provided air conditioners, curtains, and window blinds for the computer room while Bandai donated chairs.
The faculty, in particular, has grown fond of LiMA Land, a company they refer to as “family” and whole-heartedly expressed their gratitude to the company’s support in the hopes that Bugtongnapulo would continuously provide quality education to its students.
Two learnings that I have come to bring with me from my student days. First, share our blessings. Second– education is very important to nation-building. Si Aboitiz Foundation and Aboitiz Group believes and actively participates in nation-building through education. In LIMA Land and AboitizLand, in our small way, we would like to give back to the communities because one of our core beliefs in AboitizLand is to build communities. And this is one of the ways that we build communities around our properties. We believe in education as part of nation-building and a good education starts with good facilities.

All in all, volunteers had a fun and fulfilling experience joining Brigada Eskwela, which was not only an opportunity to give back but also to interact with fellow A-People from different business units.
Next year, LiMA Land aims to step it up by equipping the school with a science laboratory to further promote innovation.
