SNAP-Magat’s Maris Hydro: You, too, can make a difference!

Leene Camo | Feb. 28, 2018

The five-member team of SN Aboitiz Power (SNAP)-Magat share the inspiring story behind the 8.5-MW Maris hydro project in Ramon, Isabela, a reality sparked by a once small IDEA.

Maraming salamat sa management at sinuportahan nila yung idea namin. Hindi magma-materialize yan, hanggang idea lang, kung walang suporta sa finances, sa resources na manggagaling sa management. Maraming salamat sa management ng SN Aboitiz Power.

– Romualdo Cañadido, Retired Operations Supervisor, Magat Hydro

– Jesus Laddaran, Mayor, Ramon, Isabela

LEGACY. The five team members of SNAP-Magat who came up with the Maris hydro project will always be remembered by their fellow TMs whom they have inspired with their passion for innovation and the host communities whose lives their project has changed for the better.

IDEA, or the Innovative Development and Execution of Activities, now known as Inyovation, is a great opportunity to make a difference. At AboitizPower, all efforts are appreciated and all ideas are valued.

At the start, we want innovation to be embedded as part of the culture, part of the thinking, part of the mindset of everyone in SNAP. But it’s something you cannot mandate. You cannot dictate people to be innovative. There has to be something that drives them to be innovative, just like being creative, just like to be trusting. So, we have to come up with an environment to encourage people to be innovative.

– Manny Rubio, EVP and COO, AP Generation Business Group

Maris is a very meaningful project for SNAP because it’s a validation of our people, our processes, our capabilities, our potential as an organization. It gives us the confidence to undertake bigger and more complex projects in the future.

– Joseph Yu, President and CEO, SNAP
