Firstly, may I wish all of you a Happy New Year. 2019 just might be one of those marker years — like 1929 for Finance, 1939 for War, 1982 for wine and 1920 when Aboitiz & Company was formed. It may well be the year that will be remembered as the tipping year we left a Rules-Based world to one of New or No Rules, and that of New and less tools.
As such, recognizing the biases we all have and reflecting on them with a greater understanding might be something one wants to do.
All the Best!
“We are each entitled to our own personal world view.
Unfortunately, when it comes to interpreting information and making objective sense of reality, human brains are hard-wired to make all kinds of mental mistakes that can impact our ability to make rational judgments.
In total, there are 180+ cognitive biases that mess with how we process data, think critically, and perceive reality.”
