Arcel Madrid | Feb. 1, 2018

SacaSun was recognized for its corporate citizenship and social responsibility initiatives by the San Carlos City Risk Reduction Management Office. The local government unit specifically acknowledged the company’s support for the former’s disaster preparedness program through equipment donation and related training.

SacaSun, APRI’s solar power generation company, accepted the citation at the Year-End Conference for Government and Volunteers that took place on Dec. 27, 2017.

In partnership with WeatherPhilippines, SacaSun has installed automated weather stations in its solar field inside San Carlos Ecozone in Barangay Punao, San Carlos City. WeatherPhilippines also conducted Weather 101 trainings for SacaSun’s host communities.

We thank our partners and volunteers for extending assistance to us. Some of you have been helping even before I joined the government. Please continue to help, as we may never know when disasters may happen.

-Ginggo Valmayor, Mayor, San Carlos City

SacaSun and WeatherPhilippines will continue to work with the local government to improve people’s disaster resilience and preparedness, better preparing more Filipinos for severe weather conditions and helping co-create safe communities.
