Aboitiz Construction Group in partnership with Ramon Aboitiz Foundation (RAFI) planted 3,200 seedlings that will establish a timber and fruit forest in Mulao, Compostela, Cebu last September 24. It aims to enhance site micro-climate, biodiversity, carbon sequestration, and livelihood generation for the locals.
With a target of minimum 90% survival rate, the project and will help ensure that natural ecosystems continue to support their ecological functions, ultimately addressing climate change.
Reinforcing their responsibility mindset, the project will span three years, the first of which will be devoted to site or plantation establishment while the remaining two years will be focused on maintenance.
A total of 100 Kaubans led by Aboitiz Construction President & CEO Nap Pe and Vice President Zeny Novabos. They were joined by a four-member team from RAFI headed by their Executive Director for Integrated Development Unit Anthony Dignadice as well as community members of Brgy. Mulao.
