UnionBank LEAD Management Trainee Program is upping the ante with a first-of- its-kind LEAD Mixer, which was held on Aug. 4, 2017, at the 47F Skylounge.
This brand new LEAD gathering, which aims to expose UnionBank’s emerging leaders to conversations that matter to them, kicked off with President and Solar Philippines Founder Leandro Leviste as its keynote speaker. At a very young age of 24, Lean is an inductee in The Asia Forbes 30 under 30 2016. His talk centered on “Millennial Leadership.”
The LEAD MTs were in high spirits and were thrilled to get first dibs from a co-millennial, who is exemplary in terms of achievements. Lean spoke about how he came to create his company and what continues to drive him despite having achieved so much. He lives by his philosophy of “spending every waking moment trying to improve the lives of others and doing acts that is not a disservice to everyone else.”
Following his presentation, LEAD MTs were given a chance to pose questions that were crowdsourced using an online platform called Slido. Lean gamely answered questions that covered his professional life and a little bit of his personal life. LEAD Program Manager Laarni Ona and Senior Manager Jaysel Bernardino also piqued the excitement of the LEAD MTs by introducing several innovations in the program such as the LEAD Reads, LEAD Cluster Mentoring Program, LEAD Talks, LEAD Universal Training Plan (UTP), among many others.
SVP and Human Resource Director Michelle Rubio wrapped the event by expounding on the theme of millennial leadership and fortifying the message on innovation. She also emphasized the role LEAD MTs will play as future leaders of the Bank. For the next LEAD Mixers, the LEAD MTs can expect that they will be joined by a roster of movers and shakers, innovators, and well-known industry heavyweights who will be sharing with them their respective learnings and experience in a fun, learning session.
