Sew Very Happy Club Is Giving Back!

By Kristie Amacna

The Sew Very Happy Club does not just enjoy sewing but is also driven to fulfil their purpose of giving back. Anchored on the value of responsibility, the club decided to use their skills and love for their hobby for the good to help out in the funding for the company Christmas outreach. And with that, their skilled hands went to work.

As the annual Aboitiz Christmas Outreach approached, the Sew Very Happy Club eagerly (as always) raised funds by selling items such as pouches and different tote bags — made in varying designs — for customers from different business units across the Aboitiz Group. Even with their busy schedules as A-People, they made time to sew up a lot of other items to be sold.

In total, the club finished 137 small pouches, 13 simple tote bags, 27 tote bags with black lining, and 27 big tote bags. That's a total of 204 items that were all especially handmade! And from their projected earnings of PHP5,000, the club was able to double the total amount to PHP10,580. All proceeds were donated to the Aboitiz Christmas Outreach 2019.

It was definitely a successful initiative from the Sew Very Happy Club. Not only did they make their customers happy, but also the kids who attended the Christmas Outreach.
