Aboitiz Football Cup Wraps Up 23rd Season

The 23rd season of the Aboitiz Football Cup has successfully concluded, marking another milestone in the Philippines' longest-running grassroots football tournament. Held at the Aboitiz Pitch, Luzon's largest multi-sports artificial turf within the sprawling LIMA Estate in Batangas, the tournament showcased the passion and skill of football teams from Metro Manila and Region IV-A.

MORE THAN A COMPETITION. The Aboitiz Football Cup is touted as a celebration of community building and youth empowerment.

This year's edition featured a significant expansion with the introduction of a youth CALABARZON division, reflecting the commitment of AIC Economic Estates to provide more opportunities for young athletes in the region. Kicking off on November 11, 2023, and concluding on December 9, 2023, the seven-a-side football festival brought together players, coaches, and communities to celebrate the spirit of competition and camaraderie.

Organized by RSA1 Sports Group and LIMA Estate, the Aboitiz Football Cup went beyond being a mere competition. It stood as a testament to the broader mission of enhancing communities, improving well-being, and enriching lives through the power of sports. With 13 divisions ranging from U7s to the Open and Veterans category, the tournament provided a platform for budding talents, fostering youth empowerment and community building.

The commitment to nurturing football talent extended beyond the playing field. LIMA Estate collaborated with the Philippine Football Federation and Football Lipa to establish a comprehensive referees coaching and tournament management program. The eight-day football clinic led by coaches from the Football Lipa Academy not only honed the skills of community kids from Lipa-Malvar but also allowed them to play alongside accomplished football players.

The Cup featured expanded age categories, from the U7s up to the Open and Veterans category, providing even more opportunities for budding football talents.

Adding another layer to the developmental initiatives, seasoned experts such as Edwin Alobin and Rely San Agustin facilitated an introduction to football events management. This initiative equipped young athletes and sports educators with essential knowledge on organizing effective football events or tournaments, contributing to the holistic development of their skill set.

As the 23rd season drew to a close, the Aboitiz Football Cup reaffirmed its commitment to empowering the next generation of athletes and fostering vibrant, healthy communities. The tournament's success underscores LIMA Estate's role as a multifaceted hub, seamlessly integrating industry, leisure, and community-building into a thriving entity.
