Aboitiz Land Accelerates Digital Transformation through SAP Philippines and Cloud4C
Aboitiz Land advances its innovation goals with Cloud4C and SAP PH to support key areas of operations and back-end support.
In its commitment to innovation, Aboitiz Land, Cloud4C, and SAP Philippines inked a partnership that will leverage on the latest technology from SAP and to benefit from the best practices incorporated on the updated SAP S/4 HANA.
The collaboration will ensure a more effective integration of Aboitiz Land’s processes, compliances, security, transparency, new applications, and technologies essential in an innovative business model for its Digital Transformation strategy.
"This will make work simpler, more effective, and more satisfying for our operational teams, who have worked under the strain of manual processes and unintegrated systems for far too long while being required to use systems that only office desktops can accommodate," says David Rafael, Aboitiz Land President and CEO.
The new system will enable users to work from anywhere using mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. With its ease of use, increased performance is anticipated through real-time processing and evaluation of widely ramified data and information, as well as making predictions, visualizing data, and running simulations. This scalable solution will also enable improved integration, reporting, and communication across all teams.
Sustainability and Innovation in Information and Communications Technology
The real estate industry contributes to nearly 40% of global carbon dioxide emissions. Operations account for 70% of these emissions, while construction produces the remaining 30%. International and national climate targets call for considerable emissions reductions in construction and operations, which can only be accomplished from profound changes by real estate developers.
In the Philippines, Aboitiz Land is among these real estate developers. With a Cebu-homegrown legacy in shaping master-planned developments, Aboitiz Land innovates solutions to deliver stronger and more sustainable homes.
Back in 2020, Aboitiz Land’s innovation in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) was propelled when the current SAP system was migrated to cloud server as a way to further improve services to its stakeholders.
Instead of operating and maintaining physical data centers in the Cebu and Taguig offices, a cluster of remote, distributed computing resources have been made available on-demand through web services over the internet. Cloud computing has effectively minimized energy consumption since data centers require 24/7 constant power supply for the servers, its cooling systems, and network devices. It also reduces the need for equipment that adds to the e-waste.
Moving to the cloud enables employees to collaborate remotely which minimizes the need for daily transport and replaces air travel with video conferencing options. These translate into saving 3 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions in a year. Moreover, when typhoon Odette hit Cebu in December 2021, business continuity was not affected.
With the continued digitization of processes across operational and support teams and the help of valuable partnerships, Aboitiz Land is prepared to take the next significant step towards innovating ways to lead Filipinos home.
For over 25 years, Aboitiz Land has stayed true to its promise of innovating ways to bring more Filipinos home through its thriving master-planned communities. It now looks to further expand its reach by continuing to develop innovative and fully-integrated communities in more locations across the Philippines. A subsidiary of the Aboitiz Group, it is built on a firm foundation with a hundred-year heritage of advancing business and communities.
