AEV Strengthens Commitment to SDGs At UN Global Compact High-Level Dialogue

Aboitiz Equity Ventures and the Aboitiz Group reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development by participating in the High-Level Dialogue on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) organized by the Global Compact Network Philippines (GCNP) and the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Held at BPI Townhall in Makati City, the event brought together private sector leaders, civil society, and government representatives to advance collaborative action toward the 2030 Agenda.
The dialogue was part of the official mission to the Philippines of Tonilyn Lim, Chief of Programmes at the UN Global Compact, and featured key insights on global strategy, the enhanced Communication on Progress (CoP), and opportunities for stronger public-private alignment. Lim was joined by Minister Jesus (Hendrik) Garcia, who represented His Excellency Ambassador Antonio Lagdameo, the Philippines’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
Minister Garcia emphasized the Philippine government’s commitment to advancing the SDGs through stronger collaboration with the GCNP and the private sector. He also outlined strategic efforts to encourage more large corporations to join the GCNP and integrate sustainability into their operations.
As a long-standing UN GCNP participant, AEV emphasized its ongoing integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles across its business units. Its transformation into a techglomerate reflects a deep commitment to innovation and inclusive growth. “We are proud to stand alongside partners who believe in the power of business to drive sustainable change,” said Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar, AEV’s Chief Reputation and Sustainability Officer and Vice President for Marketing and Board Member of GCNP. “Our journey continues to be guided by purpose, accountability, and the ambition to create long-term value.”

The dialogue followed the High-Level Conference of Middle-Income Countries (HLC-MICs) hosted by the Philippine government on April 28–29, reinforcing the vital role of the private sector in accelerating SDG achievement.
AEV’s participation underscores its belief that sustainable development is a shared responsibility—and that business has both the opportunity and obligation to lead.
