Why Dave Wants To Hack Lima Water

With our A-People remaining at the very heart of the Great Transformation, having the right mindset and skills with a greater focus on building capabilities is crucial to propel our techglomerate ambition. Aboitiz Eyes continues to highlight the vibrant initiatives of the GT Culture Tribe, empowering their competitive edge in an ever-changing landscape.

The GT Culture Tribe officially kicked off GT Hackathon, co-presented by UnionBank's UBX, the Philippines’ leading open finance platform, and Google. The goal is tap into A-People's innovative potential, foster collaboration, and, ultimately, actively contribute to the Aboitiz Group’s transformation journey.

The first leg of this series was held at Google's Manila headquarters in Bonifacio Global City with Aboitiz team members coming from Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Aboitiz InfraCapital, 1 Food Group, Aboitiz Construction, AboitizPower, and UnionBank and the Banking group.

The introduction of design thinking concepts and 10x thinking provided a framework for participants to define and visualize their ideas effectively. This approach sparked over 65 innovative ideas that spans culture, well-being, processes, collaboration, hybrid workplace, security, and data.

Their dynamic creative spirit helped the teams develop six prototypes that progressed to the second day of the GT Hackathon, held on June 2 at The Satellite in LIMA. Here, they worked on actual solution development using the no-code platform Google AppSheet.

For Dave Agojo and his team at LIMA Water Corporation, the GT Hackathon was an exciting journey that can transform their goal of building a cutting-edge platform into a tangible reality:

At LIMA Water, our objective is to enhance the efficiency of work or job orders by implementing a platform called Work Order Management System. This aims to streamline tracking and approvals, ultimately reducing turnaround time. Our vision is for this platform to become encompassing across all units and ensure comprehensive integration throughout the organization.

Aside from online tracking and easier monitoring capabilities, we also want to address the issue of check and balance. We want to establish a transparent system that involves multiple stakeholders in the process, assuring fairness and accuracy in handling work orders.

This platform is not only a game-changer for LIMA Water but also has the potential to revolutionize the way other service-oriented business units operate.

GT Hackathon introduced us to groundbreaking ideas, technologies, and innovations, that can fuel the Group's ambition to become the country's first techglomerate. With the company's strong commitment to embracing technology and fostering our growth, we are excited to become more creative, take risks, explore new innovative ideas and transform these into reality.
