LIMA Water Streamlines Work Planning With Award-Winning STRAT System
LIMA Water, a unit of Aboitiz InfraCapital Estate Water and LIMA Estate’s exclusive water and wastewater services provider, has successfully launched its self-developed Work Order Management System, STRAT (Smart Task Registry, Analysis, and Tracking), revolutionizing the way maintenance work is planned, tracked, and executed.
Our team’s commitment to innovation and collaboration has paid off with STRAT. This system is not just a tool—it’s a testament to our dedication to operational excellence and sustainable growth.
–Hazele C. Manalo, Senior Assistant Vice President and General Manager, LIMA Water
STRAT, which won the first runner-up award at the 2024 Aboitiz Agile Squad PechaKucha Showcase last July 5, marks a significant step in LIMA Water’s ongoing commitment to streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency. This aligns with LIMA Water’s mission to provide sustainable water solutions.
“We are proud to see how this homegrown solution is not only transforming LIMA Water but also setting a new standard across our entire organization,” Manalo added.
A Transformative Tool for Maintenance Management
Previously, LIMA Water team members struggled with the inefficiencies of manual processes—stagnant documents, delayed work delegation, difficult tracking, and lengthy approval cycles. These challenges, coupled with concerns about quality, environment, health, and safety, created an urgent need for a more efficient system.
STRAT emerged as the answer to these challenges.
By digitizing and automating the work order process, STRAT eliminates the inefficiencies of manual tracking and approval, making it easier for teams to create, monitor, and complete tasks.
Innovation Born from Collaboration
The development of STRAT began as a simple idea submitted to Aboitiz InfraCapital’s InnoBox program. Recognizing its potential, the project was greenlit and developed through rigorous collaboration with industry leaders such as Globe Telecom and Google Philippines.
Over six weeks of intensive training and user acceptance testing, LIMA Water's team brought STRAT to life, setting a new standard for work order management.
Key Features of STRAT:
- Streamlined Work Order Management: STRAT replaces paper-based work orders with a digital platform, simplifying the process. Users can create, track, and manage tasks effortlessly, anywhere and anytime.
- Data-Driven Insights: The system provides valuable insights into team performance and task completion rates, enabling data-driven decision-making and workflow optimization.
- Enhanced Collaboration: STRAT fosters seamless collaboration, allowing team members and stakeholders to assign tasks, communicate in real time, and maintain transparency.
With faster task delegation, easier record tracking, and real-time validation and approval, STRAT is a game-changer for LIMA Water and the broader Aboitiz InfraCapital community.
Spreading Success Across AIC Business Units
The success of STRAT has not gone unnoticed. Other Aboitiz InfraCapital business units, including West Cebu Estate, are beginning to adopt the system, while best practices are being shared with Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
This initiative reflects LIMA Water’s belief that the best part of learning is sharing what you know, furthering the “TransforMISSION” of work processes and supporting the Aboitiz Group’s Great Transformation.
Further, this also reinforces Aboitiz InfraCapital’s goal of building transformative infrastructure ecosystems, where our businesses strategically intertwine.
Looking Ahead: Continuous Innovation
LIMA Water is committed to continuous improvement and innovation. The success of STRAT is just the beginning. In the near future, there are plans to launch additional initiatives such as project management and service vehicle inspection and monitoring applications across Aboitiz InfraCapital Estate Water and Aboitiz InfraCapital as a whole.
Congratulations, LIMA Water team, and keep pursuing initiatives toward achieving sustainable water for all!
