With today’s ever changing trends, many of our old clothes and household items we’ve outgrown remain laying untouched at home. The Aboitiz Women’s Club (AWC) saw the opportunity to encourage A-People to make room by spearheading a rummage sale at the Aboitiz Corporate Center in Cebu.
The rummage sale held last November 15 was open to all Aboitiz business units as team members brought in items for which they sought new owners. These included branded apparel, bags, accessories, and gadgets. There were also home appliances and furniture up for grabs, which were donated by some of the Aboitiz family members.
Aside from the happy shoppers bringing home bags of purchased items, the rummage sale team was able to raise as much as PHP30,500. The amount was three times more than their target thanks to the support of the different business units such as Aboitiz Equity Ventures, AboitizLand, Aboitiz Construction, and Pilmico. One hundred percent of the earnings were donated to Aboitiz Foundation for the annual outreach activity on December 7, 2019.
To solidify the value of responsibility, all unsold items were donated to those affected by fire in Mandaue City, Cebu.
