Leading the event, PETNET President and CEO Ian T. Ocampo highlighted the key efforts the company has taken and mentioned achievements made possible even amid the pandemic with the help of the group’s dedication.

“I want to thank the leaders and members of the organization for their ideas, trust, support, and dedication to implement plans that we set out to do last year. The results speak for themselves,” Mr. Ocampo said during his opening remarks.

In line with its theme: “Leading through disruption. Upscaling our transformation,” the company was able to reprioritize, reinvent, and reimagine to continue driving success amid the disruption that is happening in the world.

Mr. Ocampo urged the members of the company to remain committed and always prepared to learn as the company embarks on its continuous transformation.

Transformation is not about technology, it’s about you– our people.” – Ian T. Ocampo, PETNET President and CEO .

The event was spearheaded by Mellyssa Capitulo, PETNET Deputy Head of Human Resources; Ylaij Gideon Santos, PETNET Product Manager; and Ian T. Ocampo, PETNET President and CEO.

During the onset of the pandemic last year, PETNET had to expedite its transformation journey and digitalize to future-proof the business. Ocampo also talked about the creation of the new digital products team, which comprises the teams for PERA HUB Conex, the digital remittance platform, and the teams working on the PERA HUB App and card who will spearhead PETNET’s digitalization efforts for consumers.

“While we are in our early days, I’m very excited and have high expectations of this team as [they] will play a big role in making PETNET remain relevant in the remittance and payments business,” Mr. Ocampo said.

Aside from that, PERA HUB, the retail brand of PETNET, welcomed a recent collaboration with Union Bank along with Western Union to offer customers a more convenient, safer, and efficient platform to receive remittances 24/7 in real-time.

“Just like how we were a pioneer with Western Union for the country business, we are again leading the way as we partner with other digital communities in providing them with remittance services and more,” Mr. Ocampo stated.

PETNET Chairman and Union Bank Executive VP and Chief Mass Market and Financial Inclusion Executive Manuel “Chut” G. Santiago Jr. also emphasized the company’s efforts to be proactive and ready to cater to the needs of Filipinos during this challenging time.

“We quickly adapted to the changing market environment and quickly embarked on our digital transformation journey. This transformation will ensure that we’ll continue delivering the services in these trying times. This will pave our path to the new normal and deliver us to thrive and succeed as we journey to the future.” –  Manuel “Chut” G. Santiago Jr., PETNET Chairman and Union Bank Executive VP and Chief Mass Market and Financial Inclusion Executive

PETNET also recognized and honored members who have been in the company for more than 10 years as well as selected exemplary members who contributed to the growth and success of the company.

“I commit to supporting you throughout this journey of change. I look forward to working with you even closer so that we can put a huge exclamation point to 2021 and hit the ground running for 2022,” Mr. Ocampo said.

“We have to keep striving and aiming for more as a company and individually as professionals. As the theme goes, the challenge is for us to scale up our business. Ian has shared with us his vision and direction for PETNET and I would enjoin everyone to support these. It may seem daunting but for us who believe— nothing is impossible.” – Elba Gacutan, PETNET Senior Vice President for Support Services.
