Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. in partnership with SMART Communications and in coordination with Davao Light and Power Co. Inc. (Davao Light), hands over DIGIskarte Package to the Association of Differently-Abled Persons (ADAP) Multipurpose Cooperative.
The DIGIskarte Package includes digital devices such as mobile phones, LTE pocket wifi, load cards, retailer sim among others to be used as additional livelihood opportunities and help restart businesses of cooperatives that were affected by the pandemic through the Livelihood Recovery Project for Partner Cooperatives and Associations Nationwide (REstart) project of Aboitiz Foundation.
During the turnover, Geraldine Gonzaga, the Chairman of ADAP Multipurpose Cooperative, thanked the company for continually monitoring, motivating, and supporting the cooperative’s business.
“We already have plans for the products you gave us to help us in our mini-mart business. The Davao Light and Aboitiz Foundation’s assistance generated business for us at this time of pandemic. Through the ups and downs, you never failed to provide support to our cooperative”, Gonzaga said.
She also said that the package will be easier to sell as it does not require much logistics on the ground. It will be provided to other members who are currently unemployed.
Representatives of SMART Communications were also present to provide knowledge to the association on how to utilize the loading and retail package. They have also committed to helping them grow their business.
With the support of the Aboitiz Foundation, Davao Light, an AboitizPower subsidiary, has been providing livelihood recovery projects for cooperatives and MSMEs to help them recuperate from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
