For four straight years now, AEV’s Cyber Information Security (CIS) team has been hosting its learning series to elevate and enhance A-People’s awareness and knowledge of information technology security. This year’s theme “See Yourself in Cyber” is well-fitting to convey the message that security is all about people.
SecSee (also known as Security See), is a four week learning series in the whole month of October with a face-to-face culmination event at Caf8, NAC tower. It is also in line with National Cyber Security Awareness Month, which is observed every October in the United States. The CIS team invites professional speakers within the whole month of October to impart necessary information and trends for A-People to observe in their daily lives. This year, the SecSee learning series was in partnership with Hedcor, as they spearheaded their own security campaign for the first time.

Cyber and Information Security is perceived differently by everyone. A team member, family member, vendor or service provider, owner, leader each one with a different lens and perspectives. The most critical is our capability to “See”, when we see we are made aware, we can learn, correct and or advocate vigilance. Within the Eye, is a multi-colored iris. These colors represent the 5 functions of Cybersecurity, namely Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond & Recover.
A recap of the four week learning series is linked below:
- Securing Your Digital Identity with Modern MFA — Kollab Chief Information Technology Officer and Head of Enterprise Advisory Mervin Lee Tan (October 7)

Last November 9 at Caf8 (Taguig Corporate Center), as restrictions have been eased finally after two years of halt, the CIS team opens its doors to partners and vendors to host a face-to-face SecSee Forum.

More than one hundred A-People came, listened, and interacted with the booths that each partner set up, while almost two hundred listened in the Youtube livestream. Among the vendors that CIS invited were: Globe Telecoms, Sailpoint, Infocentric, Zenshin, Trendmicro, Fujitsu, Palo Alto, Nexus, Kollab, ATI, Zscaler, UnionDigital and our very own, Aboitiz Digital Innovations.
A lot of food and prizes have been given, but the highlight that piqued everyone’s interest and awareness are the security nuggets from the following live speakers:
- Zenshin’s Deo Dexter Orsolino — Protect Your Network, Protect Your Business: Understanding Supply Chain Attacks
- InfoCentric/Sailpoint’s Carlo Colegio — The Cybersecurity Saga
- TrendMicro’s Rodel Villarez — Authentication: The Importance of Practicing a Good Cyber Hygiene
- Nexus’s Nido Melojon — The sea of clouds: A fundamental approach in cloud security
- Zscaler’s Charles Repain — Does HTTPS mean safe?
Join AEV CIS team again next year as they continuously build the human firewall and gear up on GT2025.
