UnionBank has brought and introduced many innovations in the banking industry, such as the country’s first automated checkwriter and mobile banking app, the first banking website, the first Chat Bot, and the first Philippine bank to go fully on Cloud, among many others. It also awed the ASEAN region as the first and only Philippine bank in the Singapore Fintech Festival in the past couple of years, where UnionBank showcased its digital transformation and the groundbreaking results like establishing its Fintech arm UBx and its digital bank, UnionDigital.

UnionBank currently holds 16 patents, including trailblazing technologies in banking and financial services, using emerging technologies like blockchain artificial intelligence, data analytics, and more. The fruit does not fall from the tree as the parent company, Aboitiz Group, is also a pioneer in many industries like power, infrastructure, food, and more. And it is on its way to building the country’s first techglomerate – a conglomerate driven by technology, innovations, and design thinking principles. UnionBank, being a part of the Aboitiz Group, takes part in this mission to achieve hypergrowth and advance business and communities much faster through its tribes and teams of innovators and changemakers.
