It was a momentous occasion as PETNET’s selected DepEd and Pension Branch Sales Associates (BSA), Regional Sales Officers (RSO) and Front Line Associates from all over the country assembled at Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Pasay for PETNET’s 1st Annual Sales Convention on April 12-13, 2018.
Day 1
The event started with the delegates enjoying a sumptuous buffet lunch at Vikings following some RnR in preparation for the PERA HUB Awards Night. The awarding ceremony recognizes the top BSAs and RSOs who gave an exemplary performance for 2017.
“This is a super night because we recognize the best of the best,” says Dong de Guzman, Head of the Loans Services Group. He discussed the highlights and lowlights of the team’s journey by sharing the hashtags of the group to emphasize the turning points of the team; #throwback, #debacle #shift, and #moveon.

“Exactly 3 years ago sometime in February of 2015, we resolved that the entire plan for the loans can be done. Fastrack to the 2nd year, 2017, that was our year. The first half of the year we were doing 300% vs. the previous year but, middle of the year, the DepEd MOA extension issue came out. Since then up to present the same issue remains. Despite that, we ended the year with 200% vs. our target,” says De Guzman.

There will only be one first and you are part of this first convention because you are performers. None of our initiatives will work without people like you who work to make it happen. The fact that you can adapt despite the challenges is fantastic.
– Lorenzo T. Ocampo, President, PETNET
LTO further shared that during a leadership forum he was asked how he keeps his team engaged in the changes that the company is undergoing, he then replied “I honestly don’t know how. I’m just glad I have a strong and engaged team around me.”
The event then celebrated the success of the salesforce by awarding the top performers for 2017.

Day 2
The second day of the convention provided a glimpse of what’s to come for the coming year wherein introduction of new products were shared with the team.
“As our way of strengthening our partnership, we thought about conducting this annual convention. We envision it to be an effective and dynamic platform for partners like us to have a productive exchange of ideas,” said Grace Roy, Sales Support Manager.
A business review of the 2017 performance was also discussed by Rey Revaula, Manager for Sales Planning and Bloom Esplana, Senior Manager for Sales Development.

More discussion followed with regards to the upcoming products and services to be introduced by the salesforce.
Bung Roa, Assistant Vice President of the Loans Services Group, discussed the Integrated Selling Program which the team will be rolling out this year.
“The Integrated Selling Program paves the way to sell more products to more customers. Our sales group is no longer limited to the niche market. We get to take advantage of our salesforce by getting them to sell other products and while giving them the opportunity to earn more. This will help them to widen their network reach,” said Bung.
To further beef up their selling skills and effectively manage the transition, Assistant Vice President for Human Resources Jun Roy, conducted a group dynamics session to help the team adapt and effectively conduct their new roles in the company.

“We have a lot of things in the pipeline and it’s an exciting ride for this year. With this I encourage all of you to go the extra mile, empower one another, be more engaged with our customer and in the end the fruits of your labor will be your own success,” said Bloom.
Indeed, a “rara” for the salesforce goes a long way as they went back to their areas bringing new knowledge and renewed motivation to drive them to their goals.
