Aboitiz Leaders Join Swedish Institute’s Inaugural Leadership Program On Sustainability

Aboitiz Group Chief Reputation and Sustainability Officer Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar and Aboitiz InfraCapital Head for Transformation and Strategy Maita Villanueva, along with other senior executives from top Filipino conglomerates, are part of the first cohort of the Swedish Institute’s Global Executive Programme (GEP) on Sustainability.

The program, running from May to November 2024, includes online sessions and a one-week onsite module in Sweden. It brings together 100 top business leaders worldwide to learn about best corporate practices in sustainability from Swedish experts.

The program’s focus on sustainability aligns with the global shift towards greener and more responsible business practices, making it a crucial platform for the Philippines to showcase its commitment to sustainable development. With Ginggay and Maita are:

Six Filipino executives from the private sector, part of the inaugural cohort of the Swedish Institute’s leadership program on sustainability, pay a courtesy visit to H.E. Ambassador Maria Lumen B. Isleta (center) at the Philippine Embassy in Stockholm. The meeting highlighted the importance of global collaboration and learning from Sweden’s sustainability best practices, which the executives aim to implement in their respective organizations.

Isleta, the executives discussed the importance of enhanced engagement with global leaders and learning from Sweden’s exemplary best practices, with the aim of sharing and implementing insights on sustainability in their respective organizations.

With more business organizations worldwide adopting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards, the participation of Filipino executives in the SI Global Executive Programme demonstrates the Philippines’ proactive approach to integrating sustainable practices into core business strategies, ensuring long-term economic resilience and social responsibility.
