The Teresa Plant of Republic Cement in Rizal has garnered two awards at the 64th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC), organized by the Philippine Mine Safety and Environment Association (PMSEA) and the Mines and Geosciences Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
The conference was held on Nov. 24 at Camp John Hay, Baguio City. Republic Cement bagged the 2017 Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award (PMIEA)- Selection Committee Platinum Achievement Award, Surface Mining Operation Category; and the 2017 Safest Quarry Operations Award – Runner-up. PMIEA recognizes the plant’s exemplary performance in safety and environmental management and community relations.
