2017 Milestones
PETNET maintained its position as the largest agent location network of Western Union in the Philippines as Western Union services were expanded into LBC’s 1,300+ locations.
We were certified for ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems with Zero Non-Conformance. The ISO 9001:2015 certification is an international seal of our ability to consistently provide quality products and services that satisfy the requirements of its customer and stakeholders.

We have now embraced various global best practices such as Stakeholder Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Knowledge Management, Project Management, Communication Planning, Competency-Based Development, etc. Adopting such global best practices simply means that we are serious in our desire to scale up our business by ensuring that our stakeholders are satisfied with the effectiveness and efficiency of our business processes and in the delivery of our services.
Taking advantage of new technologies was one of our strategies for 2017. The rise of Fintech gave us a chance to study how we can maximize our retail network while utilizing available platforms to strengthen our business. Thus, we’ve expanded our product offerings and partnered with Cash Credit for PERA Agad microloans to mobile subscribers, launched PERA Dali ATM withdrawal facility in our branches, and piloted City Savings Bank’s OFW Bene loans in select company-owned branches.

This year marks our 20th year of providing convenient and friendly financial services to our customers. We will intensify our commitment in making money matters available, accessible and convenient to every Filipino through continuous product expansion and utilizing available platforms to serve more people.

2018 Outlook
This year, we fully intend to roll out Western Union services and other retail financial products across larger networks. We will optimize the growth of Western Union Business Solutions and expand credit product availability in our branches.
We will further make our services available in the PERA HUB Mobile App as part of our digital initiatives this year. The second version of the PERA HUB Mobile App will include the capability to send and receive money via Western Union by Q1 of 2018. This will be linked to our PERA HUB Visa Prepaid Card, where customers can top-up their cards in the branches and use their balance funds to do remittances, shop online, and withdraw money at ATMs.

Throughout 2017, the synergy we had with the companies under the Aboitiz Group proved to be rewarding for all our initiatives. Thus, we will continue to align with Aboitiz’s culture and practices to fully cultivate their acclaimed corporate governance.
