City Savings Bank’s Compliance team conducted a nationwide cascade of the compliance obligations to further engage Operations team to understand and appreciate their role in the compliance function of the Bank.
CitySavings Chief Compliance Officer Barry Baya explained the fiduciary nature of banking through the 2Ps (Profit and Protection), while Candy Seguerra, Deputy Compliance Officer explained about BSP Circular 857 on Financial Consumer Protection and Compliance Cycle. She highlighted that communication should be H.O.T (Honest, Open and Two-way) in order for the cascade and the bank to succeed. Ramil Coca, Deputy AML Officer and Fatima Barlaan, Compliance Specialist took turns to discuss the relevant notes on Anti-Money Laundering Rules and BSP Circular 871 on Internal Controls and Audit.
The cascade happened in three separate learning sessions for Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao last November 09 at 29/F UnionBank Plaza, Ortigas, Pasig City, October 05-06 at Casino Español de Cebu, Cebu City, and October 25 at The Pinnacle Hotel, Davao City respectively.
