A group of 25 bakers from various Aboitiz Foundation partner cooperatives in Davao City is set to receive their NC II certification following the successful Baking and Pastry Skills Training conducted by the Philippine Baking Institute.
The training opportunity is designed to help participants start their own business or upgrade their skills for higher employability. Skill-enhancing training is essential in the thrust of Aboitiz Foundation to empower communities. The Foundation also provides partner organizations with training opportunities in areas such as management, cooperative management and governance, cooperative standards, entrepreneurial and business management, financial management, and rules formulation.Beneficiaries with entrepreneurial capability and mindset contribute to local economic development by allowing them to start their own small businesses.

This thrust is aligned with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) no. 8, which promotes full and productive employment and decent work for all, leading to inclusive economic growth.
