Aboitiz Foundation partnered with civic groups Community Organizers Multiversity (COM) and Urban Poor Associates (UPA) to provide food packs for communities greatly affected by the COVID-19-relared quarantine in Taguig City.
The food packs, which complement the aid from Taguig’s local government unit, were distributed last August 14 to 650 families from five community organizations namely Taguigueño Akong Dakila Habang Ako Nabubuhay Neighborhood Association, Samahan ng mga Taong may Kapansanan sa Sta. Ana (PWD Sta. Ana), Samahan ng Magkakapitbahay sa Faculty, Samahan ng mga Kababaihan ng Purok 5 Napindan, and Samahan ng Maralitang Pulong Kendi Neighborhood Association.
In these challenging times, we can truly see the bayanihan spirit of Filipinos. We are one with Taguig City LGU, COM, UPA, and Taguig community organizations in helping the most affected. We hope the food packs are able to provide relief and hope to the members of the community suffering from economic difficulties due to the lockdowns.
–Maribeth Marasigan, President & COO, Aboitiz Foundation

As of August 24, Taguig City has reported 4,146 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 3,263 recoveries. A total of 34,735 PCR tests have been conducted under the city’s Systematic Mass Approach to Responsible Testing Program.
Malaking tulong po ang naibigay ng Aboitiz Foundation dahil ang inyong naibigay na tulong ay tatagal ng ilang araw. (What the Aboitiz Foundation gave is a big assistance to us as this will help us get by for a few more days). On behalf of PWD Sta. Ana nagpapasalamat ako sa Aboitiz Foundation.
–Henry Espiritu, President, PWD Sta. Ana
While the officers and members of PWD Sta. Ana themselves, along with four other community organizations, were badly affected, they provided invaluable support Aboitiz Foundation in the identification of families and the orderly distribution of the relief packs.
To date, the Aboitiz Group has contributed over PHP2.2 billion for its COVID-19 response efforts nationwide. This excludes various payments waived, reduced, extended, or restructured to help its customers cope with the impact of COVID-19.
