To support team members working from home, Aboitiz released video conferencing guidelines to help A-People maximize the digital tools at their disposal and successfully navigate the alternate work set-up.
Before taking the call, team members are urged to look for an appropriate and well-lit location as well as test their equipment. In the case of slow internet connectivity, it is helpful to close unused, bandwidth-heavy applications and adjust outgoing and incoming video settings so that less data is used.

In any call, the organizer is responsible for sending invites to other participants beforehand, creating a backup plan in the event that some team members are unable to connect, and designating roles to facilitate the meeting. During the actual call, the organizer should also ensure that the meeting agenda is being met.
It is common courtesy to turn off (or ‘mute’) the microphone when not in use and pay attention to the speaker. If a speaker is presenting or discussing, participants can opt to share their comments in the chatbox.
After the call, the organizer should send a follow-up message containing the gist of the meeting and the deliverables that are expected from other participants in the call. To access the full guidelines, click here.
Team members have been working from home in an effort to curb COVID-19 transmission risk, making good use of the robust digital infrastructure that the company has put in place. For critical functions, a skeleton staff has been formed across the power, banking and financial services, food, infrastructure, land, and construction strategic business units in order to ensure unimpeded service delivery.
