200 grade school students from the St. Mary’s Initial Learning Experience (SMILE) got exposed to the wonders of the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park. For the whole month of February, batches of eager young minds explored the sprawling eight-hectare marine life sanctuary, discovering its nooks and crannies while learning about the critically endangered hawksbill turtle or pawikan and the 66 species thriving in its mangrove forest, seagrass beds and coral reefs.

“We always believe that learning does not only happen inside the classroom and that experience is still the best teacher. By visiting the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park, our young learners will have more appreciation of the environment and wildlife conservation.â€
