Aboitiz Foundation formally turned over sewing kits along with a two-storey multi-purpose building last May 8 to Paknaanon Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PAMULCO) to provide further support its already wide-ranging operations. The sewing kits, provided through Pilmico, will augment the new business PAMULCO is building, a dressmaking shop.
The coop has continued to deliver good performance, upholding the spirit of cooperativism since its early beginnings. With a capital of PHP26,000 and 31 active members, its lone business was broom making, and PAMULCO has since grown into a multi-enterprise cooperative with credit services, a general store, and payment services. It currently has 560 active members with an asset amounting to PHP14.72 million. It has certainly put the knowledge and skills acquired from training with Aboitiz Foundation into good use.
This building’s location and condition gives us more function. We can assure you that beginning today our situation is more favorable in carrying out services beneficial to our members and in the community. This year, 2017, we are aiming to grow in asset to PHP18 million.
