UnionBank And Partner Fintechs Ensure Continued Cards Delivery

Despite the ongoing lockdown, UnionBank has partnered with ride-hailing fintechs, Angkas, Grab, Joyride, and Lalamove to ensure cards delivery, particularly for new accounts opened digitally despite the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

No less than the heads of the card production team mobilized this reinvention with their staff, dispatching cards from their own residences while working with localized drivers.

Meanwhile, UnionBank’s mobile banking kiosk Bank On Wheels continues to roll down Luzon in an effort to bring the bank at the doorstep of the customers to avoid health risks in this time of pandemic.

In a recent webinar, the bank’s chief transformation officer Henry Aguda said in the coming months, the Bank On Wheels will also be deployed in the Visayas and Mindanao.

A champion of digital banking in the Philippines, UnionBank strongly advocates banking from home with the current public health crisis.

The bank has its mobile and web platforms for both retail and corporate clients – the UnionBank Online and The Portal – where customers can make fund transfers, bills and tax payments and deposit check, among others.

Last March, UnionBank posted a dramatic rise in digital transactions, including, among others, its PESONet transactions surging 82% year-on-year, while InstaPay transactions in April alone equaled its total number of transactions since its inception.
