Seven members of the newly formed Aboitiz Running Club (ARC) participated in an exciting test of speed and endurance at the Nat Geo Earth Day Run 2018 last April 22.

Held at the SM Mall of Asia, three ARC members (Jonathan Gumtang, Chris Lizada, and Jam Salazar) ran in the 5K (five kilometers) category, while four ARC members (David Berba, Franz de la Fuente, JM Lazo, and Jonas Omandam) ran in the 21K (21 kilometers) or half-marathon category.

The Nat Geo Earth Day Run is one of the country’s most well-attended annual running events. It is known for highlighting one’s own contribution to the environment on World Earth Day.

The Nat Geo Earth Day Run was ARC’s first running event for the year. To train for the run, ARC members allotted Wednesday evenings attending various running clinics and exercises spearheaded by the club execom.

“We’re happy to start the year strong with the Nat Geo Earth Day Run. We’re definitely looking forward to the succeeding runs we have planned for the rest of the year,” says Omandam, ARC President.

ARC meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. To know more, feel free to contact Jonas Omandam at jonas.omandam@aboitiz.com. See you at the finish line!
