Amplifying its advocacy for the Philippine education sector, City Savings Bank (CitySavings) has officially partnered with Khan Academy Philippines to strengthen professional development for teachers across the country.
The initiative aligns with CitySavings’ goal to be the leading mass market bank by providing educators access to Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered resources to enhance learning. Through the Khan Academy platform, the partnership addresses the gap in learning, particularly in remote communities.
Enriching education in the Philippines
For years, CitySavings has been supporting the Department of Education (DepEd), contributing to campaigns like Brigada Eskwela and Brigada Pagbasa, and providing technological support and learning equipment. This new partnership indicates a remarkable leap toward the Bank’s corporate social responsibility goal of contributing to a sustainable and future-ready learning environment.
“Our partnership with Khan Academy Philippines is a significant step in CitySavings’ commitment to elevating the Philippine education sector. By providing teachers with AI-powered resources like Khanmigo, we are not just supporting their current professional development, but actively co-creating a sustainable, future-ready learning environment where both educators and students can thrive and lead in the digital age,” shared CitySavings Assistant Vice President – Reputation and Brand Management Head Paula Ruelan.
Strengthening Foundational Skills
Mikee Landicho, a teacher-participant from Camp Vicente Lim Integrated School, shared how the resources easily help improve problem-solving skills. “The interactive practice exercises and instant feedback significantly enhance learning.”
The initiative leverages technology to support lesson planning, assessment creation, and real-time classroom management through Khan Academy’s AI-powered teaching assistant, Khanmigo. The resources are designed to benefit students and teachers, as the former can learn more concepts at their own pace, while the latter can focus on providing mentorship to students, given the reduced administrative load.
With over 300 participants from the Sta. Rosa and Calamba clusters in Laguna, the teachers joyfully expressed appreciation and shared insights from the sessions held on November 28 and December 4, 2025.
Commitment to Co-creating Safe, Empowered, Sustainable Communities
This project is a core element of CitySaving’s commitment to elevating communities. Following the Bank’s recent efforts of donating laptops and school equipment to DepEd divisions nationwide, the Khan Academy partnership boosts CitySavings’ reputation as a trusted partner in both banking and community development.
As CitySavings continues to champion its advocacy of elevating the lives of the people it serves, this partnership indicates an upgrade to inclusive education – where technology and strong advocacy align to create a brighter future for the Filipino teachers and students.
