With our audacious ambition to evolve into an organization defined by agility, efficiency, and innovation, our A-People should not just be ready for change but become dynamic catalysts propelling us forward in our GT2025 journey.
In the second chapter of our Special Series featuring our Culture Pillar Squads, Aboitiz Eyes takes you on a ride through the milestones of Squad 2 —the driving force behind our Techglomerate Capabilities. Let’s dive in!
TECHGLOMERATE CAPABILITIES
The second squad is primarily responsible for identifying the techglomerate capabilities and designing various blended learning programs centered around these. New ways of learning are emphasized as part of the upskilling, reskilling, and newskilling of our A-Talents.
Ensuring our talents are equipped by embracing an adaptive learning culture is crucial in this techglomerate revolution. Take a look at some snapshot of what the group achieved:
Agile Squad Onboarding

Tied with the mission of mobilizing Agile squads within the Group, the Agile 101 Onboarding session was developed and conducted across leaders and newly formed squads to learn and appreciate the fundamentals of Agile Principles and its Ways of Working. The sessions allowed various key leaders and squad members to also understand their varying roles aligned to this. In the aspiration of expanding our agile capabilities, ongoing development and certifications of Professional Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Onboarding trainers are being done.
Capability Building
The squad achieved a milestone by identifying and launching the 10 core capabilities necessary for us to realize our techglomerate aspirations and undergo transformation.
The core capabilities were aligned to the Group’s strategic workforce plans and transformation aspirations. A self-assessment tool was also developed for us to determine our baseline data that will aid towards a more intentional and targeted development planning.
Another big win for the team is the launch of the Aboitiz Agile Champions (Agile Scrum Chapter) in May early this year. It was attended by almost 160 team members both onsite and remotely. This move was able to forge partnerships within the group, producing 175 member partners which are currently focusing on different activities for their respective teams.

Learning Interventions

In terms of learning programs, the squad expanded interventions through the #LearningLunes program powered by Aboitiz Academy. They have started with the theme “Power of Storytelling” to equip team members on creating impactful stories. In addition, “Discovering your Agile Ways of Working” was introduced to foster the ongoing development of our desired Agile culture.
The group has also launched other learning programs to accelerate the capabilities needed to build our techglomerate aspirations. Interested learners can avail sessions such as “Writing User Stories”, “Customer Journey Mapping”, “Business Model Canvas”, Professional Scrum Master and Product Owner certifications.
What’s next?
The squad is now laser focused on continuing the deployment of our Techglomerate learning programs, with a specific emphasis on Data Science and Generative AI through boot camps and hackathons. We can anticipate a consistent drive towards various activities for the Aboitiz Agile Champions. This includes efforts to certify trainers across the Group.
Aboitiz Academy’s internal microsite will continue to feature more of these capability building programs for our A-Talents.
Get ready for the last chapter as we uncover the successes of our dedicated Squad driving the Group’s Agile Ways of Working!
