Aboitiz Land envisions becoming the leading innovation-driven real estate developer in the next few years. The business unit aims not only to build high-quality communities with lasting value for their stakeholders, but also to provide the customers, who are called vecinos, with a smooth and seamless home buying experience. This commitment makes Aboitiz Land stay true to its brand promise: “Innovating ways to bring Filipinos home.”

As part of their ongoing transformation, the group has initiated various internal activities, with a focus on areas that will enhance the home buying journey for our vecinos. The Customer Service Team has accelerated its improvements through omni channel presence and incorporating data science and artificial intelligence in its operations to ensure that vecinos have a unified and consistent experience, regardless of where they are or the means they choose to reach Aboitiz Land. Through this digitalization, it aims to position the Customer Service Team as a catalyst of innovation within Aboitiz Land by optimizing the use of data and automation.
The current challenge lies in effectively organizing the vast amount of data generated through our digitization efforts. The GT Hackathon provided an opportunity for us to learn how to create custom applications and automation without the need for expertise or profound knowledge in coding.
“Our time in the GT Hackathon was inspiring. It encouraged us to think outside the box. True innovation happens when we move beyond just solving problems and start imagining new approaches that fit our current situation.”
—Antonette Artista, Sales Team, Aboitiz Land
Aboitiz Land’s goal is to gain insights quickly, identify trends, and determine the most effective courses of action. Leveraging the power of data is also about ensuring that all team members across the organization can quickly grasp the significance of reports and numbers in achieving their objectives.

The experience and knowledge that the group gained in the Appsheet Appathon activities fully supports this objective. The possibilities and potentials in what the team can build for its data management and organization needs, to support the overall digitalization activities, are vast. As Anz Santos from the IT team puts it: “The hackathon was a great addition to our knowledge set. Our team’s efficiency has substantially increased as we implement the strategies and insights we have learned.”
These learnings are now being transformed into operational and functional projects. Apps to assist in common transactions such as vehicle requests to databases for managing integral operational activities such as Unit Rectification Monitoring, Escalated Demands Database, NTP/COPC database, and unified CST dashboard are currently in the works and targeted for implementation in early 2024. These projects aim at enhancing the collection and administration of data, making up the foundation for the comprehensive digital ecosystem being developed at Aboitiz Land.
Equipped with the know-how to build our own tools from our ideation, Aboitiz Land are now more confident in finding and creating solutions to our fundamental needs in further leveraging the use of data. The team eagerly anticipates the completion of these projects as the group continues to pursue and take part in the Great Transformation journey.
