FOR PROFIT

A History Of Corporations

William Magnuson

Dear All!

For some time, the polemic on purpose have been on our discussion roundtable and healthily so.

I think we all think alike as we express differently what the priorities are — Profit or Purpose. The Jesuits put money first because without it they knew they could not survive. Nobles put war before money to their demise. The Vatican always put profit, wealth, and property first in support of their federated structure, which never allowed the units to threaten the Mother in Rome.

Magnuson starts with the Societas in Rome and takes us towards the Start-Up so we understand the evolution of the Corporation for the good and for the not-so-good or the damaging.

His conclusion, I feel, gives us the checklist that we may have been searching for to narrow the polemics of our roundtable.

All the Best!

Endika
