PERA HUB Empowers Business Partners To Thrive Amid The Pandemic

PERA HUB recently enabled its 256 PERA HUB Authorized Agent locations to offer more remittance and complementary services in the communities that they serve. With over nine international and domestic remittance partners, PERA HUB’s agent locations can now cater to more remittance customers and offer more products such as cash in services for e-wallets, microinsurance, and the PERA HUB Visa Prepaid Card. This strategic initiative is in line with the direction of PERA HUB to maximize the counters of its agent locations by rolling out more products and services being offered from company-owned locations.

PETNET has been the first among Western Union agents to offer added-value products to its sub-agent network. Many of its business partners for the past 20 years only offer Western Union services.

We now have more variety in terms of product and service offerings that our sub-agents can cross-sell aside from their core business. It’s really exciting to be able to offer these services to our business partners and to their customers since we get to add more value to the partnership. This will also be an opportunity to help them build success in their local business and for us to further solidify our partnerships.

PERA HUB’s over 3,000 retail network was initially established to grow the retail business of Western Union in the Philippines. PERA HUB went non-exclusive with Western Union in a move to realize its direction to become the “center for cash” in communities.

“Operationally it’s the next logical step for our network due to the established competencies of branch front liners in performing KYC and in facilitating cash-in and cash-out services. It’s very timely that we get to activate these services for our agents since Filipinos need access to financial services especially during this time of the pandemic,” added Marc De Guzman, Vice President & Head for Branch Operations, Sub-Agents, Added Value Products & Customer Service.

PERA HUB’s agent retail network mainly consists of money changer centers, pawnshops, rural banks and are located in various areas in the country.

PERA HUB Sub-Agent Florentino Senga De Leon Jr., General Manager of FS De Leon Pawnshop and Jewelries attests to the stronger partnership due to the roll-out of new services.

PERA HUB is our partner of choice for our remittance and cash services. We have been partners for growth for many years and they continue to add value to this partnership by ushering in new technologies and products that enable businesses to future proof their business.

PERA HUB has been working alongside the business partners to empower their business growth amid the pandemic. Select Business Partner locations can now also offer GCash cash-in services, microinsurance products, and the roster of remittance partners onboarded by the group.

"As we have started going on retail expansion, our partnership with PERA HUB has been a great breakthrough. Along with our branch openings, we get to offer more services that would cater to the ever-changing needs of the market. Looking forward to a brighter and promising future with this partnership." said Jose Avelino Salazar, President of Sinag Pawnshop Corporation

Meanwhile, Jose Young II, Compliance Officer & Manager of Jackie’s Foreign Exchange and Money Transfer share how PERA HUB plays a vital role in providing access to financial services in far-flung areas.  "Here in the northern part of Luzon, access to financial services remains to be a pain point to the communities. With our partnership with PERA HUB, we become a part of a bigger movement towards financial inclusion that allows our counters to cater to more customer needs. We get to help people and grow our business at the same time,” he said.

PERA HUB intends to roll out the services to all agent locations by 2021 and is working on several other brands to roll out to the counters by Q1 of 2021. The group continues to empower their business partners as they work hand in hand to advance business and communities while “future-proofing” their businesses.
