Republic Cement Responds To Bulacan LGU's Call For Food Aid
Republic Cement was the first to answer the call of Mayor Alfredo Germar of Norzagaray, Bulacan for support for communities affected by the enhanced community quarantine to contain the spread of COVID-19. Despite challenges in rice supply, Republic delivered 200 50kg sacks of rice to the Norzagaray LGU.
Since the implementation of the quarantine, Republic Cement has continuously supported its North Cluster communities by way of providing close to 700 daily food packs and water for breakfast, lunch, and dinner to AFP and PNP personnel manning checkpoints, N95 masks for barangay tanod, and medicines and vitamins for host communities.
Throughout the country, Republic is implementing the same efforts for its host communities across its six plants in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Aside from rice and food assistance, Republic has also been donating face masks and face shields, disinfectant products and soap, as well as nebulizers to its host communities.
As of this writing, there are 28 COVID-19 positive cases and 12 deaths in the province of Bulacan.
