Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower) was among the organizations commended by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for its exemplary contribution to the region’s energy sector, particularly on its cooperation on nuclear energy technologies, information sharing, and capacity building. To recall, AboitizPower signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. in Gyeongju, South Korea last July to explore the potential applicability of nuclear energy technologies in the Philippines, including conducting joint pre-feasibility studies. AboitizPower President and CEO Danel Aboitiz (pictured center) received the commendation during the 44th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City, Metro Manila. The AMEM gathers ASEAN energy leaders, industry representatives, and key stakeholders for high-level discussions, knowledge exchange, and regional collaboration.
